I've conquered for Cancer Council

I started with a goal of $1000. After donating $100, I figured raising the remaining $900 would be manageable.Less than 24 hours in we hit over halfway with $612.25. Three hours later, we demolished the initial goal with $1183.75. It was at this point, I raised the stakes - my next challenge was to overtake my sister's fundraising total of $1551.89. A bit of friendly competition (or sibling rivalry) for a good cause.
My friends came together (with impartial family members donating to both our pages in equal amounts) to raise $1600.80.

This is for you, Mum
On the 19th February 2023 after a four-year long battle, I lost my Mum to cancer.
To honour her memory, my sister and I will be taking on the 7 Bridges Walk on Sunday 22 October 2023 to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour. I know walking sounds easy but consider; I am unfit and 28 km is further than walking from Marrickville Pork Roll to Engadine Maccas (26 km). I also don’t get a pork roll or mcflurry at the end of my 7 Bridges Walk.
I currently work within the cancer research space, and I can attest to the great work the Cancer Council do in Australia. Their yellow daffodil pops up across the cancer research, prevention and support groups across Australia to aid where needed in the fight.
Every year in NSW alone, more than 53,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant.
Please consider donating as we try to raise some money to help those affected by cancer. Every step counts because all funds raised will help Cancer Council NSW work towards the vision of a cancer free future. Thank you for your support!
