I've conquered for Cancer Council
Walk This Way!!!!!
Those who know me, know I seek a new challenge at least once a year. However, the last 6 years have seen me have to fight my own challenges. Now, equipped with titanium plates and screws in both feet and having the drive and determination bigger than ever, she's back to make a difference.
This October, I’m walking 28km across Sydney’s 7 bridges in memory of those we’ve lost and in support of those still fighting cancer. In April of this year i lost a good friend. Right now, I have another battling this and I feel helpless. So what can we do?
We get together, we laugh, we cry, we share stories and we walk.
But I’m not just walking.
I’ll be carrying a 9kg vest the entire way.
Because cancer is heavy. And this weight represents the pain, the fight, the loss, and the strength we carry for those who can’t walk beside us.
We start at MILSONS POINT 730am and if you cant join me, please donate!
But come challenge yourself. Its 1 day we fight. These friends, our family, sometimes ourselves, have to fight this more than 1 day! So easy yeah? Let's do it!!!
So far this year I’ve helped provide:
1096 kids with a SunSmart education
42 calls to trained cancer professionals on 13 11 20
54 hours of a research assistant's time to work on research we fund
