Village Ticket Scanner

Be the friendly face that kicks off each participant’s 28km walk! As a Village Ticket Scanner, you’ll play a vital role in keeping things moving smoothly, by scanning and checking in walkers at your designated village.

Using your own fully charged smartphone, you’ll use your camera to scan the QR code on each participant’s ticket, check them into their village and hand them an Event Guide before sending them off with a smile. You’ll be interacting with a high volume of people, so being efficient, approachable, and calm under pressure is essential.

Participants may arrive without their ticket, have trouble locating it, or be unsure of what to do. You’ll need to confidently assist them, answer basic questions, and help keep the experience positive and welcoming.

This is a fast-paced, people-focused role that suits someone who’s tech-savvy, enjoys helping others, and can stay upbeat in a busy outdoor environment.

Be the friendly face that helps participants feel confident and supported from the moment they arrive.

As part of the Cancer Council Information Tent Crew, you’ll be the first point of contact for walkers needing guidance, support, or a friendly face.

Located at all 6 villages, you’ll assist with ticket and merchandise sales, answer participant questions, and help direct people to key services such as buses, first aid, food and amenities.

You’ll be a central part of the event experience – helping participants feel informed, welcomed and ready to enjoy their walk.

You’ll be working alongside Cancer Council staff, who will be there to support you and answer any organisational questions that may come up. While all information you need will be provided on the day, we encourage volunteers to familiarise themselves with the event beforehand, so you feel ready to jump in and support participants with ease.

This role is perfect for someone who’s confident, bubbly, and enjoys helping people, in a fast-paced community-focused environment.

Bring the energy and help make the 7 Bridges Walk unforgettable! As an Event Experience Volunteer, you’ll be all about fun, motivation, and creating moments that participants will remember long after the walk is over.

This role is perfect for someone who’s outgoing, confident, and not afraid to be loud—whether that’s cheering, singing, dancing, or dressing up as our beloved mascot,?Dougal Bear. You’ll be stationed in one of our villages, helping to lift spirits and celebrate progress throughout the day.

Tasks may include:

  • Dressing up as Dougal Bear and interacting with participants
  • Cheering and motivating walkers as they pass through the village
  • Taking photos for participants at the start/finish line Supporting the Hope Wall at Rozelle Village
You’ll be chatting, high-fiving, and celebrating with participants all day—so we’re looking for volunteers who are comfortable being in the spotlight and love creating a vibrant, feel-good atmosphere.

Be part of the action in one of our vibrant event villages! As a Village Stamp Crew volunteer, your main role is to stamp participants’ Event Guides as they pass through your village—maybe even with a high five to celebrate their progress.

Before the first wave of walkers arrives to have their Event Guide stamped, you may also be asked to support other tasks around the village – such as guiding participants where to go as they kick off their walk.

You’ll see waves of walkers coming through at different times to have their Event Guide stamped, keeping the role lively and engaging. You’ll also assist with digital stamping by helping participants scan QR codes at your station.

This role is perfect for someone who’s friendly, flexible, and loves being part of a feel-good, community-driven event.
