I've conquered for Cancer Council

A better future for everyone

This is my first time joining the Walk and also the best opportunity to acknowledge those who provide helping hands throughout my medical journey over past two decades, as well as to serve as a living proof how cancer diagnosis doesn't necessarily dictates one's life.

From my stage 4 diagnosis while I was working as an expatriate in UAE in 2005 to my second primary diagnosis of stage 2 in 2017 while (again) working as an expatriate in Hong Kong, I received expert medical cares and support from my employers during treatments in the two countries. Every time I returned to Australia with a briefcase full of medical records in 2007 and 2019 respectively, Oncologists from Canberra and then now Nepean Hospital keep me under close surveillance all time. They also introduced me to all sort of tests which guided me through a series of preventive measures.

With all the supports from families, friends, and medical professionals spanning across the globe, I have been living a productive and fear free life despite of the pessimistic prognosis I first got 20 years ago.

Since then I have also shared my experience with other newly diagnosed patients or friends during their times of uncertainty. I hope by joining this walk, my messages as well as the donations will benefit research for better future of cancer treatments here, and will spread a positive note to those who are in different stages of the same journey as I have been in.

I’m walking for a cancer free future

I’m taking on 7 Bridges Walk on Sunday 26th October 2025 and will be uniting with the community to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour.

Every year in NSW alone, more than 53,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant.

Please sponsor me and help those affected by cancer. Every step counts because all funds raised will help Cancer Council NSW work towards the vision of a cancer free future. Thank you for your support!

So far this year I’ve helped provide:

441 kids with a SunSmart education

or

16 calls to trained cancer professionals on 13 11 20

or

22 hours of a research assistant's time to work on research we fund

Thank you to my Sponsors
