I've conquered for Cancer Council
I'm sick of sodding cancer!
I wasn't going to fundraise.
I know people are doing it tough, and there are so many worthy causes asking for support.
But in the last month, four of my friends, not Facebook friends, real people I know and care about, have started their cancer journeys.
Four.
One is too many.
And honestly, I'm angry.
I'm angry that cancer keeps showing up in the lives of good people. I'm angry that so many families have to hear the words no one ever wants to hear. I'm angry that this disease continues to take so much from so many.
So while I wasn't planning to fundraise, I want cancer to fuck right off.
I'm doing the 7 Bridges Walk in Sydney on Sunday 25th October. I've been through my own breast cancer journey and i can't tell you how amazing the support is from charities like these. If raising money is one small thing I can do to help fund research, support patients and families, and contribute to a future where fewer people have to face this battle, then that's what I'll try to do.
