I've conquered for Cancer Council

Thyroid cancer

At the start of this year 2026 i ended up in hospital with severe vertigo. After doing mri scan on my head they found a nodule that was to be followed up with my gp in January which was 0.05cm. I put it off went on holidays etc after in February decided it was time to follow up with gp who referred me for ultrasound which picked up that the nodule had grown  in such a short period of time.
I was than referred to do a biopsy and thats when i heard the C word. I was referred to a specialist & was booked 6 weeks later for surgery to remove my thyroid. Thankfully in April surgery was successful.
I have 3 kids and my youngest is severe autistic and all i kept thinking was what will happen to her if something happened to me 😭
The last 8 months has been such a scare/shock. But i couldnt be more thankful for where i am now. Unfortunately not everyone gets this outcome and i want to walk to raise this awareness of so many people going through different types/ stages of cancer that others may not be aware of. I have always loved walking but to walk 28kms for such an amazing cause is my absolute honour. 
This year i have close friends and family who have cancer so i will do this walk for them also ❤️

I’m walking for a cancer free future

I’m taking on 7 Bridges Walk on Sunday 25 October 2026 and will be uniting with the community to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour. 

Every year in NSW alone, more than 56,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant. 

Please sponsor me and help those affected by cancer. Every step counts because all funds raised will help Cancer Council NSW work towards the vision of a cancer free future. Thank you for your support!
