We’re walking for Zoe & all those affected by cancer, in the hope of a cancer free future!
On New Year's Eve, 2024, our world was turned upside down when our teenage daughter, Zoe, was diagnosed with WNT Medulloblastoma brain tumour, which is a grade 4 malignant tumour.
After surgery to remove the tumour, followed by several other surgeries required as part of the treatment, Zoe underwent 30 rounds of radiation treatment over a 6 week period. Zoe is currently undergoing chemotherapy as the final stages of her initial treatment. The impact this disease has on a teen and the family is devastating. Zoe has a long hard road ahead with physiotherapy & occupational therapy as part of her recovery.
The good news is that the prognosis is very positive. This is thanks to generous donations over the years that have helped fund research which has led to significantly improved prognoses and patient outcomes.
We’re taking on 7 Bridges Walk on Sunday 26th October 2025 and will be uniting with the community to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour.
Every year in NSW alone, more than 53,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant.
