Why I Walk the 7 Bridges – My Why

For the past four years, I’ve walked the 7 Bridges for Cancer a journey that began in support of my wife during her brave fight, and continues now in tribute to her incredible strength, love, and spirit.

When we first joined the walk, it was about showing up for her every step a symbol of love, hope, and the fight we shared together. Now, each year I walk to honour her memory and to stand with every family who has faced or is still facing this battle.

Cancer changes everything, but it also reminds you of what truly matters love, connection, and the strength that comes from community.

So, I walk.

For Megan.

For our family.

For everyone touched by cancer.

Every bridge crossed is a reminder that love doesn’t fade it just finds new ways to keep moving forward. 💛

I’m walking for a cancer free future

I’m taking on 7 Bridges Walk on Sunday 26th October 2025 and will be uniting with the community to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour.

Every year in NSW alone, more than 53,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant.

Please sponsor me and help those affected by cancer. Every step counts because all funds raised will help Cancer Council NSW work towards the vision of a cancer free future. Thank you for your support!

So far this year I’ve helped provide:

499 kids with a SunSmart education

or

19 calls to trained cancer professionals on 13 11 20

or

24 hours of a research assistant's time to work on research we fund

Thank you to my Sponsors

Neil, what you’re doing is truly inspiring. Cancer has touched our lives deeply — we lost our beautiful 10-year-old niece, two of our closest friends, and my wife bravely fought her own battle just two years ago. It changes everything — how you see life, love, and what truly matters. That’s why your walk means so much. Every step you take brings hope — for those still fighting, for those we’ve lost, and for families like ours who live each day grateful for more time together. Until there’s a cure, all we can do is keep walking beside one another, with love, courage, and purpose. We’re with you every step of the way, mate.
