I've conquered for Cancer Council

From shoulder surgery, to the 7 Bridges: I’m walking 28km for cancer research — and I need your support! 💛

Two months ago I had shoulder surgery, and I’ve finally been cleared to take on the 7 Bridges Walk - a 28 km walk around Sydney Harbour!

I’m walking to raise funds for the Cancer Council Australia - Australia’s leading cancer charity. They work across every area of cancer - prevention, research, support, treatment information - everything.

Here are some stats so you can see why this means so much:

🔍 Why supporting the Cancer Council matters:

🏥 In 2025, it’s estimated there will be around 170,000 new cancer cases diagnosed in Australia, up from about 88,000 in 2000.

The increase is due partly to population growth and aging, but also due to higher incidence in some groups.

🔬 Close to one million Australians will have been diagnosed with cancer in the last 10 years. That’s almost 1 in every 25 people.

💛 Cancer is still one of the leading causes of death here - about 3 in every 10 deaths in Australia are due to cancer.

🌻 On the bright side, survival rates *are* getting better. The 5‑year relative survival rate has jumped from around 50% in the late 1980s‑early 1990s, to around 72% in recent years.

🫴🏻 What I’m asking of you

Where you come in: I’m asking friends and family (and potentially compassionate strangers) to support me (and my team) in this challenge by making a $28 donation - that’s $1 for every kilometre I’ll be walking. Every little bit helps.

Will you consider sponsoring me on my fundraising page? Your contribution will make a real difference for Australians impacted by cancer.

Thanks so much for your support,

Krystal 💛

I’m walking for a cancer free future

I’m taking on 7 Bridges Walk on Sunday 26 October 2025 and will be uniting with the community to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour.

Every year in NSW alone, more than 53,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant.

Please sponsor me and help those affected by cancer. Every step counts because all funds raised will help Cancer Council work towards the vision of a cancer free future. Thank you for your support!

So far this year I’ve helped provide:

0 kids with a SunSmart education

or

0 calls to trained cancer professionals on 13 11 20

or

0 hours of a research assistant's time to work on research we fund
