I've conquered for Cancer Council
More than a good cause
Anyone who knows me knows that voluntarily walking 28 kilometres isn't usually at the top of my list of fun weekend activities!
But this year, I've decided to take on the 7 Bridges Walk in Sydney to raise money for the Cancer Council.
The truth is, this is about so much more than a walk.
Like so many people, cancer has touched my life in more ways than I can count. I've watched family members, friends, clients who have become friends, and people I've known battle this horrible disease. Thankfully, some have won their fight. Sadly, others are no longer with us.
Every one of those people has left an impression on me.
Cancer doesn't care who you are, how old you are, or what your plans for the future might be. It affects not only those diagnosed but also the families, friends and loved ones who walk beside them every step of the way.
Compared to what they endure, walking 28 kilometres is a very small challenge.
So I'm putting on my walking shoes, crossing seven bridges, and hopefully making a small difference along the way. My goal is to raise funds for the Cancer Council so they can continue supporting people affected by cancer, while investing in the research that brings us closer to better treatments—and one day, a cure.
If you're able to support my fundraising, whether through a donation or simply by sharing this post, I'd be incredibly grateful.
Thank you for helping me turn every step into something meaningful.
I’m walking for a cancer free future
I’m taking on 7 Bridges Walk on Sunday 25 October 2026 and will be uniting with the community to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour.
Every year in NSW alone, more than 56,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant.
Please sponsor me and help those affected by cancer. Every step counts because all funds raised will help Cancer Council NSW work towards the vision of a cancer free future. Thank you for your support!
So far this year I’ve helped provide:
644 kids with a SunSmart education
24 calls to trained cancer professionals on 13 11 20
32 hours of a research assistant's time to work on research we fund
Thank you to my Sponsors
