I've conquered for Cancer Council

MY WHY

From The Heart 💜 
Last year, I made the decision to embark on the 7 Bridges Walk, a challenging 28km journey around Sydney, which involved crossing seven bridges around the beautiful harbor. This event,  named the 7 Bridges Walk, holds a special significance for me.

My motivation for participating in this walk stems from my deep admiration for Jim, who has been fighting re occurring kidney cancer for the past year. Jim's journey has been far from easy, as he fights with unwavering strength to keep the many tumours in his liver and pancreas at bay. Despite the hard nature of his treatment, Jim faces it all with a smile on his face, takingeach hurdle in stride.  The cost of the cancer treatment is staggering, with
a monthly expense of $10,000 for a daily chemotherapy drug. Fortunately,
this expense is covered by our excellent health system, as the PBS covers the cost of his ongoing treatment. We are truly blessed ! 

Regular visits to the Chris O'Brien Life House, a state-of-the-art cancer hospital in Sydney, have become a part of our routine. While the facility itself is beautiful,
the atmosphere within is undeniably tough. Every person there is facing
their own battle with cancer, and witnessing this first hand is at times
tough to watch.   

To give the walk this year greater meaning and purpose, I have been encouraged to embrace the fund raising side of the walk.  I hope to make a difference in the lives of others, supporting a cause that is greater than myself. This walk is not just a physical challenge; it is a symbol of solidarity, hope, and the power of community. Together, making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.  

The only thing left for me to do now is to get training so I make the distance on October 22nd.  Kim 💜💜💜

I’m walking for a cancer free future

I’m taking on 7 Bridges Walk on Sunday 22 October 2023 and will be uniting with the community to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour. 

Every year in NSW alone, more than 53,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant. 

Please sponsor me and help those affected by cancer. Every step counts because all funds raised will help Cancer Council NSW work towards the vision of a cancer free future. Thank you for your support!
