My Story

In August 2024, my life changed when I was diagnosed with leukaemia. What followed was an incredibly challenging journey involving intensive chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, countless appointments with specialists, three months in hospital, and eventually a stem cell transplant from my sister in September 2025. Along the way, I was lucky enough to have my friend Florentine by my side. She was diagnosed with the same cancer just one month after me, and we supported each other through some of the hardest moments of treatment. The Cancer Chicks organisation has also been an incredibly important source of support, connection and understanding throughout my journey. I am incredibly grateful to say that I am now cancer free, but finishing treatment doesn’t mean that the experience simply disappears. Cancer continues to impact my life physically and emotionally, even today. I’m taking part in the 7 Bridges Walk to raise awareness and funds for cancer treatment and research, so that other people facing cancer can feel less alone and have access to the support, community and connection that made such a difference to me.
