So..for the first time after 8 years & due to COVID-19 I was going to take a break from the 7 Bridges Walk this year. However after just hearing the extremely upsetting news that one of my best friends, Maxine Gilroy, who I have been walking for these past few years (& who we honestly thought was in remission), has just discovered her cancer is still there....Meaning her battle and the need for a cure rages on!! And also our dear family friends son-in-law, Jonathan Keil has just discovered his Leukaemia I battle is not over yet!
So because of this I’m taking on the 7 Bridges Walk again this year on Sunday 25 October and will be uniting with the community to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour. . I want to do something to help Maxine & Jonathan & this is it!
I know there are a lot of uncertainties with Covid-19 but the Cancer Council are doing everything they can to keep the walk going ahead & although there will no doubt be a lot less walkers this year, Cancer still hasn’t gone away!
Every year in NSW alone, more than 47,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant.
Please sponsor me to help Maxine & in honour of someone you know who is or have fought this disease. Every step counts because all funds raised will help Cancer Council work towards the vision of a cancer free future. Thank you for your support!
And if for any reason the event is called off due to unforeseen pandemic problems, My team & I will still walk 28KMS round Narrabeen lagoon or on treadmills ...
Thank you to my Sponsors
