Young and old on course for a cause OCTOBER is the month to put on your walking shoes, gather your family and friends and get active raising money for a worthwhile cause. Registrations have now opened for the annual Cancer Council NSW Seven Bridges Walk to be held on Sunday, October 30. More than 15,000 participants are expected to take part in the 27km course crossing Sydney's seven bridges, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Pyrmont Bridge, Anzac Bridge, Iron Cove Bridge, Gladesville Bridge, Tarban Creek Bridge and Fig Tree Bridge. The Pedestrian Council of Australia's Harold Scruby said the annual event, which started in 2006, was for young and old alike. "Walking is the best way to stay healthy and experience the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour on foot," Mr Scruby said. Participants can raise funds for Cancer Council NSW by creating a fundraising page or making a donation. Supporting partners are The Sunday Telegraph, 7 News Sydney, Asics, QBE and the NSW Government. To register visit www.7bridgeswalk.com.au
