Blackheath Walkers of the Heart Foundation are now into six years of healthy community walking with many friendships being formed. Despite bitter winter weather the hardy walkers slogged on. They also welcomed many new members. Blackheath Walkies Talkies team once again traipsed the 14km City to Surf, raising sponsorship for the Heart Foundation, with many achieving good times. Ahead is the 27km Seven Bridges Walk in Sydney to be tackled on Sunday. October 30. Walkers also took part in the Combined National Parks and Heart Foundation walk of the Fairfax Track Blackheath. They had a great dinner night celebrating their fifth anniversary with a big turnout of walkers. Twilight walks recommence on Thursday, October 6, at 5.30pm at Jubilee Park and the Monday walks at 8.30am continue at Jubilee Park as usual. They walk in a variety of amazing locations around Blackheath. This is a health walk with the purpose to promote regular exercise, motivation to continue and connection with the community as walking with a group is more social and less "have to". After Monday morning walks walkers are encouraged to bring their morning tea and to mix with the entire group. For further information contact Judy 0400 391 508, 4787-7684 or BANC: 4787 -7770.
