WITH days to go until the annual Cancer Council Seven Bridges Walk it's time register at 7bridgeswalk. com.au to join the thousands already set for a great family day out around Sydney Harbour. On Sunday, October 30, participants can walk all, or a portion of the 27km clockwise course, which crosses the seven iconic bridges of the harbour. GET INVOLVED WHEN: Sunday from 7.30am to 4.30pm WHERE: You can start at any of the seven villages and complete as much of the course as you want. The seven bridges are: Sydney Harbour, Pyrmont, ANZAC, Iron Cove, Gladesville, Tarban Creek and Fig Tree COST: $15 per person. Children under 12 are free TRANSPORT: Free buses will move participants around the course Participants are encouraged to raise funds for Cancer Council NSW. One in two Australians will experience cancer by the age of 85. But 30 per cent of all cancers can be prevented by a healthy diet and regular exercise, including walking. More than 15,000 participants are expected to take part. Harold Scruby, from the Pedestrian Council of Australia, said the annual event, which started in 2006, was for the young and old. "Walking is the best way to stay healthy and experience the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour on foot,- he said. Walkers can create a fundraising page or make a donation to go towards Cancer Council's cancer research, prevention, information and support services.
