In an effort to raise money for cancer research, the Seven Bridges Walk organisers are expecting over 15,000 people to join the 27km scenic Sydney stroll this year. Sydney is renowned for the extensive beauty, and the Seven Bridges Walk is a great way to enjoy it. Launching in 2006, the charity event arranged by the Cancer Council sets a clockwise course for participants, crossing over the seven iconic bridges of Sydney Harbour including Sydney Harbour Bridge, Pyrmont Bridge, ANZAC Bridge, Iron Cove Bridge, Gladesville Bridge, Tarban Creek Bridge and Fig Tree Bridge. "The Seven Bridges Walk is a great day out for the whole family - and there's no pressure to tackle the entire route - free transport around the course means everyone can not only get active - but support a wonderful cause as well." says event ambassador, and 7News anchor Mark Ferguson. Register online at www.7bridgeswalk.com.au and find out more about the event and how you can raise funds for Cancer Council NSW by creating a fundraising page or making a donation that will go towards Cancer Council's vital cancer research, prevention, information and support services. Rather than being a race, the walk offers participants a family day out, with seven villages dotted along the route with food and refreshments on offer. Special event buses travelling in both directions have been organised, and can shift people around the course or to their starting point if they don’t want to walk the entire route.
