THIS October many Central Coast residents will put on their walking shoes, gather their family and friends, and get active raising money for a worthwhile cause. Registrations have now opened for the annual Cancer Council NSW Seven Bridges Walk, to be held on Sunday, October 30. More than 15,000 participants are expected to take part in the 27km course crossing Sydney's seven iconic bridges - Sydney Harbour, Pyrmont, Anzac, Iron Cove, Gladesville, Tarban Creek and Fig Tree. Pedestrian Council of Australia's Harold Scruby said the annual event, which started in 2006, was for young and old alike. "Walking is the best way to stay healthy and experience the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour on foot,- Mr Scruby said. Participants can raise funds for Cancer Council NSW by creating a fundraising page or making a donation. To register visit www.7bridgeswalk.com.au.
