Bridging the gap on cancer THIS October it's time to put on your walking shoes, gather your family and friends and get active raising money for a cause. Registrations have now opened for the annual Cancer Council Seven Bridges Walk to be held on Sunday, October 30. More than 15,000 participants are expected to take part in the 27km course crossing Sydney's seven iconic bridges: the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Pyrmont Bridge, ANZAC Bridge, Iron Cove Bridge, Gladesville Bridge, Tarban Creek Bridge and Fig Tree Bridge. Harold Scruby from the Pedestrian Council of Australia said the annual event, which started in 2006, was for young and old alike. "Walking is the best way to stay healthy and experience the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour on foot," Mr Scruby said. Participants can raise funds for the Cancer Council by creating a fundraising page or donating. Supporting partners are The Sunday Telegraph, 7 News Sydney, Asics, QBE and the NSW Government.
