Put your walking shoes
on for a worthy cause
THE quintessential Sydney
event the Seven Bridges
Walk is on again and it's
time to get walking for a
good cause.
Registrations are now
open for the fourth annual
Cancer Council NSW event,
which will be held on
Sunday, October 31.
The event is set to attract
up to 20,000 people who can
walk all, or just a portion,
of the 25km course that
crosses Sydney Harbour's
seven iconic bridges - the
Sydney Harbour Bridge,
Pyrmont Bridge, Anzac
Bridge, Iron Cove Bridge,
Gladesville Bridge, Tarban
Creek Bridge and Fig Tree
Bridge.
Walkers can start and
finish at any of the bridges
and there will be free buses
and ferries to return people
to their starting points.
Food and entertainment
will be available along the
way. The event, which runs
from 8am to 5pm, was
started by the Pedestrian
Council of Australia.
This year, the Cancer
Council NSW is a naming
partner and funds raised
from donations and the $10
adult registration fee will
go toward cancer research,
prevention, information
and support services.
The Seven Bridges Walk's
media partner is The
Sunday Telegraph.
