The Seven Bridges Walk is a great way to see Sydney. No bridge too far for healthy fundraisers SPRING has officially settled in and Sydneysiders are swapping their tracksuits and beanies for trackshoes and sunglasses as they venture outdoors to make the most of the warm weather. October is the perfect time of year to get active and slip on those walking shoes for a good cause. Registrations are now open for the fourth annual Cancer Council NSW Seven Bridges Walk, which is to be held this Sunday. The event is set to attract up to 20,000 walking enthusiasts who can walk all or just a portion of the 25km course that crosses Sydney Harbour's seven iconic bridges the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Pyrmont Bridge, Anzac Bridge, Iron Cove Bridge, Gladesville Bridge, Tarban Creek Bridge and Fig Tree Bridge. Feeling puffed at the thought of 25km walk? Never fear walkers can start and finish at any of the bridges and there will be free special event buses and ferries to return people to their starting points. Food, refreshments and entertainment will also be available at the seven bridge villages along the way. The event is set to open at 8am and finish up at 5pm. Four legged friends are also welcome to join walkers if they are on a leash. Details: 7bridgeswalk.com.au
