Craving a spring in step Matt Sun Sydney is set to turn it on for the Crave Sydney festival in October. The spring festival will run throughout October and include a range of food, entertainment, art, comedy and music events. Crave Sydney events include Breakfast' on The Bridge, the Sydney International Food Festival. the Latin American Darling Harbour Fiesta. the two-day World's Funniest Island comedy festival and the CBD Art & About. outdoor exhibition. Shark, Clark and Garden Islands and Fort Denison will also host special events. NSW Premier Nathan Rees said the 31-day festival was likely to generate a $6 million economic benefit. "No city in the world can offer what Sydney can, a beautiful spring sunrise overlooking the world's most beautiful harbour." Rees said. A highlight of the festival will be on Sunday, October 25. when 6000 people will breakfast on the Harbour Bridge and tens of thousands more will take part in the Seven Bridges Walk. Clark Island will play host to the Perfect Picnic on October 26, with an afternoon event featuring costume competitions and group games. including a giant chess board. Visitors will also be able to explore the island at will. People can eat their own food and drinks while listening to DJ Lady Tre's ambient mood set. Adult tickets cost $50 and concessions are $35, which includes booking fees and ferry shuttles to and from the island, departing every half-hour from 11am till 5.30pm. Bookings at www.harbourislandhopping. com.au. Organisers expect about 400 people will be able to attend the Perfect Picnic.
