Premier Nathan Rees will today launch a festival called Crave Sydney, which will include a range of food, entertainment, art, comedy and music events. The centrepiece of the festival to run throughout October will be Breakfast On The Bridge, an event in which Sydney Harbour Bridge will be transformed into the world's most sought-after breakfast venue. "Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed for traffic and open for breakfast," Mr Rees said of the October 25 event. In all, 6000 people will have the opportunity to spend a lazy Sunday on one of the world's most recognisable icons." As part of the event the roadway of the Bridge will be covered, transforming it into Sydney's most spectacular foreshore. "Images from Breakfast On The Bridge will be beamed around the world, showcasing again why Sydney is Australia's No.1 destination," Mr Rees said. Events NSW chairman John O'Neill was excited Sydney would host the unique event. All NSW residents will have the chance to enter a draw to attend the breakfast. Crave Sydney, which is expected to generate more than $6 million in its first year, will include events such as the Seven Bridges Walk, the Darling Harbour Fiesta and The World's Funniest Island a two-day comedy festival on Cockatoo Island.
