Cancer Council NSW
Cancer Council is the leading cancer charity in NSW. We have been the focus of public action, public giving, and public communication about cancer for more than 50 years.
Our vision is to defeat cancer - our vision will be realised when lives are not cut short by cancer, or their quality diminished. We aim to defeat cancer through engaging and working with the community. We do this in three main ways:
• by funding research and clinical trials looking to find better ways to treat and detect cancer. This year alone we are investing ore than $14 million into cancer research.
• by providing support services like the Cancer Council Helpline (13 11 20) to cancer patients and their families to ease the burden of their cancer journey.
• by helping to build ‘cancer smart’ communities – by providing information on cancer prevention, and by the changes we facilitate in society, policy and practice which advance cancer control

The Heart Foundation
National Heart Foundation of Australia
The Heart Foundation, Australia’s leading organisation committed to fighting cardiovascular disease (heart, stroke and blood vessel disease), encourages Australians to lead active lifestyles and practice healthy eating habits.
With cardiovascular disease (CVD) affecting 3.2 million Australians – that’s one in every six Australians – one way to reduce your risk is by keeping yourself physically active.
At any age physical activity provides a range of health benefits - and the good news is activity doesn't have to be vigorous - moderate activity, such as brisk walking, is great for your health.
Walking on a regular basis has many health benefits including lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, helping maintain a healthy weight and helping to control diabetes.
The Heart Foundation has a number of Physical Activity Programs to get you physically active. For more information about the Heart Foundation and our physical activity programs and initiatives log onto www.heartfoundation.com.au or call Heartline on 1300 362 787.
The Heart Foundation is delighted to be involved with the 7 Bridges Walk.
